Medline Industries, Inc. has an immediate opening for Sr Manager QA supporting our Medcrest Division located in Northfield, IL. Product lines include but not limited to: textiles, surgical/patient apparel, EVS Chemicals, and more. The Sr Manager QA will be responsible for managing and directing day-to-day activities of the quality team.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with applicable Federal and State regulations (ex. QSR, GMP, ISO) pertaining to product manufacturing and distribution.
- Act as liaison with Marketing, Manufacturing and Operations to ensure quality products, on time delivery and customer satisfaction. Devise and implement effective communication strategies with production, suppliers, customers, division executives and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead a team of people that investigate, isolate and resolve issues relating to product or production quality.
- Devise and implement continuous improvement projects. Develop and share best practices. Update procedures and policies as needed to maintain compliance and improvement.
- Manager interactions and relationships with a variety of other departments as well as auditors and regulators.
- Develop and track goals and key performance metrics. Making regular reports to the marketing and quality leadership team.
- Management responsibilities include:
- Oversee major projects/programs/outcomes;
- Budget responsibility;
- Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops;
- Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies;
- Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning;
- Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Job Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or in a science related or manufacturing related field.
Relevant Work Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Engineering or Quality Control area of responsibility.
- Experience working with QSR/GMP/ISO requirements and compliance.
- At least 2 years of people and project management experience including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
Additional
- Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
- Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).
- Willing to travel up to 30% of the time for business purposes (within state, out of state and/or internationally).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant Work Experience
- Experience in Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Food or Personal Products Industries.
- Textile Industry Experience
- Experience with SAP
